Stone Group International receives the ‘Employment’ award in this year’s GREEK VALUE awards of Northern Greece
At the special GREEK VALUE Awards of Northern Greece, organized by the Federation of Industries of Northern Greece (FING) on Friday 9 March in Thessaloniki, the ‘Employment’ award went to Stone Group International.
Stone Group International received the award for the Group’s steady overall increase in creating employment positions over the last three years. It should be noted that today Stone Group International has a workforce of 577 employees, whereas in 2015 it employed 249.
The award was received by the CEO of Stone Group International, Ilias Rigopoulos, who, after having thanked the Committee and FING for this distinction, added that: ‘This award takes on special importance for Stone Group International, more so at this time of especially tough economic challenges where scaling down on the workforce seems to be the norm. Our Group has the great good fortune to be in a particularly outward-looking sector, that of Greek marble, which thus allows us to invest and grow, and consequently generates a need to increase our workforce. And it is to this workforce, which sets us apart from the competition and which guarantees us the fulfilling of our vision, to these 557 people, that we dedicate today this ‘Employment Award’.
‘GREEK VALUE awards of Northern Greece 2018: an institution rewarding ‘EXCELLENCE’ in industry

This year FING joined forces with the newspaper ‘Kathimerini’ once again and organized this initiative – now an established fixture – which aims to showcase, promote and reward manufacturing businesses which have stood out for their excellent performance over the last year in 11 areas of excellence.
The presentation of the awards took place on 9 March 2018 at a special ceremony before an audience of 400 high-profile entrepreneurs and politicians from the region.
During the event, a total of 13 awards were given, these being: 4 awards for regional excellence, 2 awards for entrepreneurial excellence, 3 thematic awards and 4 special awards.
